Scribble Drawing
This is my first art project in creative art and I guess I don't really like it. I think it looked a lot better before I used pen and did circular scribbles. I took this picture myself the summer of 2012 when my best friend, Hazel and I, were driving around town. This project got really frustrating after awhile and something I could've done to make it look better is to probably put more time into it and make the scribbles more put together. For my first drawing in this class though, I think it turned out better then it could've.
Hallway Drawing
This was a project that I completed just a bit before Thanksgiving. It turned out really well actually and it is one of my favorites drawings I have completed over the entire first semester. This is one of the hallways at my school that I free handed. The over all critique on it is that it was very nicely done. I could've shaded a little better to bring out the different varieties, but it is generally good.
Watercolor Portrait
This was one of our more fun and "do what you want" kind of projects. I liked this one a lot because it was random and could be whatever you wanted it to be. I chose mine to be a flower because out of all the shapes I saw out of the splattered artwork, that is the shape I "pulled out." I used pen then to kind of sketch the flower and really bring out all the detail I could find in the image. This portrait was created around the beginning of December.
First Still Life Drawing (Attempt)
This project was started and finished in the beginning of January. This was my first time with still life sketching and I think for a beginner it turned our pretty decent. The detail I was able to accomplish in that little time for a first was well done in my opinion. I'm proud of it and can't wait to see what other skills I can acquire to up my still life skills to create an even better project in the near future.
White on Black Still Life Take 1
This project was more of a fun one. It was a good time and I'm happy we got the chance to try this. You can't really shade with white because there aren't many varieties of the color so everything looks generally flat. I think this looks a lot cooler than the black on white though, so I wish we would've had more time to experiment with this.
Second Still Life Drawing (Final )
This is my final project for semester one and it also happens to be the best one out of all my drawings over the entire semester. I gained a lot of different skills over our still life unit like, accuracy, how to shade by making lines with two different shades up against each other, and size measurement with the eraser on a pencil. I have come a long way. This is the out come of hard work and persistence.
