Logo Art
This was my first piece I did second semester. I think it turned out really well and out of all my projects I like this one the best. I got the chance to incorporate different things I like (social networking, art with markers, etc.) into my art, so I'm really happy with what I created.
Scratch Art: Nemo
This was a fun little project I did. I've done scratch drawings before, but not as cool as how this turned out. It was hard at first because I had to focus more on the negative color than the positive, so I was able to accomplish that. I do like how it turned out, but to maybe improve it I could've tried a bit harder to give it the 3D effect with some more shading (different kinds of lines/streaks.) It also was a pain because every time I scratched when I was working on my project, the black would get all over me, and that was quite annoying. Luckily it doesn't stain.
Six Printing Pieces
This was the first print of our six that needed to be done for the assigned minimum. I loved doing this project. It was relaxing and I really enjoyed carving to create the image of choice on the linoleum. It was a bad choice in picture because of the amount of thin lines and white space I have. For the amount of detail though, it turned out a whole lot better than I expected it to. I now have five more to go!
This was the second out of six prints that I have completed. This one turned out a little bit better than the first, i think. It doesn't look as thick and the color really adds to it and make the entire print pop out more. Hopefully it keeps getting better with every print. On to the third!
Lyric Painting
In this piece we were guided to find a song that we could relate to or that we liked and create an image that describes or shows the lyrics of our song without directly writing out the lyrics. As you can see I did bluntly state my lyrics but what I was going for here was kind of a city type scene. The very background was supposed to be bricks and the words look like graffiti. I put a lot of effort and detail in this painting and it's one of my favorite pieces I've done all year. I'm really happy with the outcome. If I was to change something or do something different I would probably put more time in the bricks to bring out the detail a little more to better portray the scene.
Small Mosaic
This piece was definitely my favorite piece of artwork that I had created all year. I am more into the crafts and design type projects, not really the drawing parts. I created this by breaking colorful pieces of glass and glued them down into my chosen shapes. To finish it off we grouted everything down. I think this turned out really well and I love the colors. I chose to do a bow because I can be girly. The anchor part was because I grew up on the east coast and the whole ocean theme was a big thing in my life for a solid eight years. The ocean is my favorite place to be so an anchor is sort of my symbol. If I was to do anything different I would probably space my pieces of glass out quite a bit so you could see the grout better, but other than that, I loved the way it turned out.
